Cardio Counts

Fitness tip by Jackie Scorzetti

The most important muscle in your body is your heart. There are many safe ways to keep your heart healthy and strong during your pregnancy. Working up a good sweat will cleanse and detoxify your body and help your skin shed dead cells, but be mindful that you don’t get too short of breath and that you are still able to hold a conversation during exercise. Some favorite ways to include cardio during pregnancy are walking, stair climbing, swimming, light aerobics and stationary cycling.

Always consult a qualified medical professional before beginning any exercise program or nutritional program. All exercises and other forms of physical activity can be dangerous, especially if performed without medical advice, proper supervision and/or pre-exercise evaluation.
